The Party Season Alternative

I'm not really one for dressing up, I don't believe in 'party dresses' and you won't catch me wearing one any time soon, they're just not my thang.  However I like to put my own spin on an evening outfit and with party season coming up I thought I'd share one of my alternative party looks.

There's always an abundance of satin at this time of year and luckily for us it's also a huge trend this season.  As I said, I'm not going to don a satin party dress any time soon but a satin skirt...yes.  I love the deep berry colour of this satin midi skirt and teamed with a black chunky knit it still looks elegant enough for the festive season.

Of course you could team with a pair of heels like these for a little extra 'chicness' but I opted for my Stuart Weitzman Highland boots for warmth.
