I’ve always seen duster coats (not a coat by any means) to be somewhat of an American thang. However, in the midst of the warm weather stint we had at the start of the month I thought I’d give the duster coat a go. I originally intended for this wine satin duster coat to have it’s debut in California but sure enough our British Spring weather pulled through (be it all for 24 hours) and out the duster came. I’m not really sure of where the term ‘Duster’ comes from so I’d equate this garment to something not dissimilar to a Kimono; it’s a lightweight, long cover-up. It’s definitely a piece we see an abundance of around Coachella because it looks great layered over a cute tea dress or a pair of distressed denim cut-offs. I’ve given the duster a British spin and layered over a basic t-shirt and some light wash jeans, because our weather simply isn’t at the denim cut-offs stage just yet. To keep the look ‘summery’ I’ve mixed in my faithful little friend, the basket bag and to elevate it, these black satin shoes.
