Winter Essentials

One of my Autumn Winter essentials has to be a ‘Wrap Coat’.  There’s just something so cosy about a wrap coat, maybe it’s the slight resemblance to a dressing gown that draws me in, nonetheless it’s a must-have for my wardrobe. Now I’ll let you in on a little tip of mine when buying a wrap coat; buy at least two sizes above your normal size.  I’m normally a UK 8-10 but in this H&M coat I bought a size 14, the oversized fit works really well with this shape.

A good pair of black ankle boots is also another one of my essential winter items.  There are quite a few factors that go into making the right decision on what kind of ankle boot to buy.  As you will know if you follow me on Instagram, I splurged on these Saint Laurent Chelsea boots for this season, however they tick all the boxes.  Practical? Yes, they’re leather so no tricky suede to clean and I needn’t worry about wearing them in the rain.  The heel is the perfect ‘everyday’ height so no sore feet and constant need for new heel tips.  But better still they make me feel chic no matter what I’m wearing and THAT is really a rare find for me.  If you haven’t quite got the budget for Saint Laurent fear not, these high street look-a-likes are still real leather, super comfortable and have that ‘expensive’ look about them but at a fraction of the cost #winning
