Time Out

Hey guys thanks for hanging around despite my lack of regular posts over the last couple of weeks but as you know I was off getting myself hitched!  I’m now back, a married woman, and something inside has changed, I can’t really put my finger on what it is but I like it.

Before the wedding, I spoke briefly about not being able to ‘switch off’ and this inability was something that never really bothered me, I am after all a workaholic who loves their job and I’m a tad selfish at times, ok most times.  But now I have a new role that needs to be taken into consideration, I’m a wife, and with this new title has come a state of mental clarity and a calmness has washed over me.  I had no idea marriage would effect my way of thinking so much but it’s all for the better so I won’t fault it.

My new hubby and I set off on our minimoon two days after the wedding and I was able to completely switch off from the world that normally consumes me.  Of course I wasn’t completely absent from social media but I was able to sit through entire meals without so much as glancing at my phone notifications, I even turned the damn things off (OMG!), and this for me is a massive breakthrough.  Of course now I’m back to work I’m sure it won’t take long before I slip back into my old habits (especially at Paris Fashion Week!) but I feel as though I now hold the magical powers to take a little time out every now and then, to spend with my husband or just hit refresh on this 30 year old brain.

I’d love to hear some of your tips on how you guys ‘switch off’ and maybe I can try them out for myself x
