This season has definitely been the season for skirts! A-line, denim, suede, maxi, they’ve all been top of everyone’s wish list. Let me introduce to you, the wrap skirt, my latest love. The utility trend did take a slight back seat for SS15 to make way for the popular 70’s trend which pretty much ruled the runways, but that’s even more of a reason to rock the look.
I used to have a “proper job” and I know the pain is real when it comes to mixing up a work wardrobe for summer. I for one was never a fan of a shift dress and so mixing tops and bottoms was my number one work style rule. This wrap skirt is a great way to inject some summer into your work wear wardrobe and it’s mix of hem lengths adds a stylish element to it which a plain pencil skirt simply cannot. I’ve teamed it with a striped shirt and neutral accessories. You may want to opt for a lower block heeled sandal or if your workplace doesn’t permit open toes (spoil sports!) then some nude courts would work equally as well.
If beige is just too, well, beige for you, fret not this skirt also comes in navy and green (khaki) and the best bit is that it’s a bloody steal at only £11.50! Just a bit of sizing advise from me, these skirts do come up small, I’m a size 10 and I ordered a size M and as you can see, it fits pretty snugly around the bottom area, I could have done with a L.
