The Next Blogger Island

Last week I whisked away by Next with a group of 11 other bloggers for an overnight stay on Osea Island. If like me, you’d never heard of Osea Island before, it’s just off the coast off Essex and is where they filmed The Woman In Black. You reach the island by a gravel road which is covered by water at certain times of day, but that’s all part of the fun! I found myself wishing I hadn’t already booked my wedding venue, because how cool would that be? Your own island to get married on! Next had booked for us to stay at ‘The Captains House’ which was the most beautiful Hamptons-esque house right on the water front. The views were amazing and it was such a peaceful place to be, if we weren’t bloggers I imagine we would have been tempted to abandon our phones altogether, but alas, that’s never possible in our world. I’m sure if you followed the #NextBloggerIsland across Instagram and Twitter you would have seen what we all got up to but if not we were treated to a cookery class with Spook which even for me (a non-cooking enthusiast) was so much fun. FYI, my input (or lack there of) was to chop a single chili, and I did it with pride and precision, and it was the best chopped chili there ever was! Yes, I’m not one for cooking, and that’s all I could be trusted with but I am one for eating so credit where credit is due, the rest of the girls did a great job making each of the dishes we ate; alfresco overlooking the water. We then had a chance to explore the island for a few hours and find our perfect picture spots, this is the perfect activity for a group of bloggers, finding locations is our thang. We chilled out for the afternoon, soaking up the incredible sunshine we were lucky enough to have and in the evening we sat down to yet another fine meal, this time not made by our fair hands, accompanied by a little Murder Mystery! The closest I’d ever been to a murder mystery was a heated game of Cluedo, but this was so much fun and I would love to do it again…potential Hen Party activity!!!
It was such a great trip, with great company and I’d like to thank Next for an epic couple of days!
