Every season I'm on the look out for those core pieces which are going to be versatile enough to carry me through the season. So today I've teamed up with M&S to bring you 4 looks based around 4 staple pieces, all of which are super versatile and can create a number of outfits, both smart and casual. Head over to the M&S site to see how 4 of my fellow bloggers are wearing them for some serious outfit inspo.

The White Shirt
The white shirt is my go-to item, if all else fails or if I’m struggling for inspiration, a white shirt can work with pretty much anything…and it always looks chic. I always team mine with straight or boyfriend fit denim for a more casual look. As you can see here I’ve layered a trench coat over the top and paired with some ballet flats for a chic every day outfit. But the styling options for a white shirt don’t end there; wear under a suit or with a pencil skirt for work and team with some sleek black cigarette trousers and some statement jewellery for an evening look. If you’re ever stuck for a day to night piece, the White Shirt is a winner.

Mules
If there’s one thing we all search for it’s an every day heel. I’m quite tall as it is but I always like to add a little more height with my footwear. Theses block heel mules are the perfect everyday heel height and I can guarantee they will be such a great summer staple. I’ve teamed mine with some black straight leg jeans which I’ve customised by fraying the hems and this on trend gingham top with amazing flared sleeves. The outfit is relatively simple with only 3 core pieces but it looks effortlessly chic.
