In Summer sneakers are a huge part of my wardrobe, in the heat our feet swell up and this is what can cause blisters from even the most comfortable of sandals. I find the most comfortable footwear for Summer is a pair of sneakers worn with some cotton no-show socks and I will wear them with just about anything from a shorts and t-shirt combo to a cute tea dress. This weeks' Sneaker Diaries post features my beloved Saint Laurent sneakers which I bought earlier on in the year (see them also styled here) and I've teamed them with a pair of vintage Levis cut-offs, a basic t-shirt and a blazer. If we look back to the first Sneaker Diaries post I ever wrote I mentioned that my rule of thumb for styling sneakers into an outfit was to always add a piece of tailoring to offset the casual aesthetic of the footwear. As you can see in today's look I've not strayed away from my golden rule and by layering this gorgeous double breasted blazer over a basic shorts and t-shirt combo it instantly elevates the look. Yes fair enough it's not really wedding suitable and nor will I be attending any job interviews dressed like this but it certainly adds a chicness to the outfit which only tailoring can do.
