It's that time of the year again where we find ourselves planning our holiday wardrobes. I don't know about you guys but holiday dressing encourages me to be a little more adventurous with my style, introducing a bit of colour here and there and even a few prints which aren't usually part of my daily 'uniform'. One thing I look for when planning my holiday looks is versatility. I love pieces which are wearable with a number of different options and if I find a piece which goes from day-to-night then that's a real winner.
I've teamed up with Selfridges for today's post featuring 2 ways to wear this beautiful bird print shirt dress from DVF. A shirt dress is a holiday essential of mine because it falls very neatly in that day-to-night category. I've layered the DVF shirt dress left open over a pair of denim cut offs and a lace up swimsuit, transforming it into a kimono style cover up which is perfect for a day at the beach or for lounging around the pool. For a more evening look I've worn the dress with it's own tie belt and slightly bloused the waistline to lift the hem, because you've got to show off those freshly tanned legs right? Leaving the top buttons undone I've layered the dress over a black lace triangle bra to add a slightly more sexy hint to the outfit. This is still a holiday look after all so I would pair with some very simple black sandals and a black bag with some gold details to match my jewellery.
