Monochrome is a trend which can pretty much be pulled off whatever the season, and it’s one which I visit rather frequently. Black is super flattering so my rule of thumb is always to wear black on the part of my body I want to emphasize, my legs. So I then balance the look out with this white off the shoulder top which actually comes with the built in black vest, making it the ultimate monochrome piece!
You should really invest in a good fitting pair of black jeans (probably skinny), as they always come in handy for rocking the monochrome look and lets face it, they are just a must-have for any wardrobe. I know premium brands can be pretty costly but that’s why I’d like to introduce to you DSTLD. They are an LA based premium denim brand…without the premium price tag. Basically they sell their denim (Mens and Womens) at what other brands sell it to retailers (who then mark it up by say 200% to rip us off, oh joy). These ripped skinnies I have on in this look were $85 which is roughly £54 and my god do they fit perfectly! The site has a range of high-waisted, ripped and cropped styles but unfortunately hasn’t quite moved on to flares or boyfriend fits, but I’m sure they are in the pipeline. The prices are low so if only ordering one pair there’s going to be no duty fee and shipping prices are actually very reasonable. If you’re thinking of trying a pair I’d definitely recommend the high-waisted styles!
