My Hero Pieces Of The Season

Well it appears that Autumn is officially here. Leaves have fallen, the chunky knits have come out and my mince pie craving has reared it's ugly little head.  Yes it's completely normal to start thinking about Christmas related things as soon as August is over, in fact, it's the law.

I've teamed with House Of Fraser for today's post to sprinkle a touch of Autumn on your day...and your wardrobes.  October is my favourite month for fashion, it' the time when I feel the most inspired and my sartorial juices are flowing at full speed.  It'll be no surprise that I'm going to chat to you about my all-time favourite wardrobe staple and as it happens, the must-have piece of this season, the check blazer.  If you don't have one in your wardrobe then I urge you to get on board because gone will be the days where you 'have nothing to wear'.  Layer over a basic tee on warmer days, a cami for evening or a polo neck sweater (as I have done here) for those cooler days.  It's the key piece for an understated chic look and teamed with some straight leg jeans (in any wash, I've opted for black) it's my go-to daily combo.  I've added a pop of rather bold colour to this otherwise monochrome outfit with these red suede ankle boots.  Red is another huge trend this season but if like me you're slightly 'afraid' of colour then working it into your accessories by way of your footwear, a bag or even a scarf is a great way to incorporate this trend into your wardrobe without losing sight of your own style.

What I love about House Of Fraser is the range of brands they carry. They have so many of my favourites all under one virtual roof and with hundreds of new arrivals each week there's always something that get's me reaching for my bank card.
