Without a doubt one of the most coveted bags for 2016 is the Gucci Dionysus (Shop the designs here). I fell in love with the design when I saw it emerge from the runway in Milan back in September, it went straight on my list and I recently took the plunge and bought one (this one), eeeeeeek! Gucci is fast becoming a brand I’m falling totally in love with when it comes to handbags, the Dionysus is now my third accessory from the Italian power house of fashion and I’m sure it won’t be the last. Someone recently asked my advice on buying a designer handbag and I instantly jumped to Gucci as a recommendation. Their bags are incredibly well made (as you’d expect for the price!) but I also find them to be hard wearing because they favour leather for their designs which are treated to resist the weather. Unlike my Chloe Faye which sadly now remains unused because she got so dirty on my mini-moon in Venice and Budapest, she’s clearly not a city girl.
Another favourite designer of mine is Stella McCartney, not so much for her accessories (although I wouldn’t say no) but certainly for her ready to wear collections. Sadly I don’t quite have the budget to be dressing head to toe in Stella (just yet) so I have created a look using high street pieces with serious Stella-vibes. The blazer, bought in Paris back in October has been a favourite of mine over the last few months. Blazers are probably the one wardrobe essential I literally couldn’t live without! Normally I pair them with a basic tee or a shirt and some jeans (normally ripped) but Stella’s collections are more streamlined than this. She’s all about sophistication, sharp tailoring and suiting so I teamed the blazer with these wide leg knit trousers to create a very Stella looking suit. A cosy grey jumper, cinched at the waist, worn underneath gives the smart/casual finish that we see in her collections.
