Yes guys, the hoodie is back and in a big way. Thanks to the likes of edgy brands such as Vetements the hoodie has been deemed acceptable to wear outside the gym and off the sofa. You know it’s going to be a huge trend when even Gucci release a range of hoodies; probably to proceed that famous Gucci t-shirt (sold everywhere on earth but similar here). I’d love to know what you guys think about the trend but personally speaking, any garment that invokes a feeling of actual comfort is a winner in my eyes. The question is ‘how are we styling the hoodie?’. This is not a simple case of hoodie and sweatpants ladies, oh no, that’s where the comfort line is drawn and we begin to encroach on ‘Sunday slob’ territory. We’re mixing the hoodie with tailoring and denim. In today’s look from my recent trip to LA I’ve layered a masculine check blazer over this dusky pink hoodie. The ruffle detail on the sleeves of the blazer and the pink colour of the hoodie add a slightly feminine touch to the look. Blazers must be oversized guys, because have you ever tried fitting a fleece hoodie under a fitted blazer? It’s simply not going to happen and you will loose the ability to use your arms. Shopping in the mens section for oversized fitting blazers is always a good option or just try upsizing your ‘boyfriend fit’ blazer by a couple of sizes as I have done here. These H&M raw hem jeans are pretty much a Vetements rip-off but hey, who’s got £700+ to spend on a pair of ripped jeans? Not me, so for now, H&M will do just fine 👌🏼 As the warmer weather approaches we’re going to be tucking oversized hoodies into denim skirts (I love this one from Zara!) and teaming with a pair of ankle boots. This is the ultimate street style trend since fishnet socks and it’s a heck of a lot more comfortable, and comfortable trends don’t come around all that often so if you want my advise…take the hoodie by the strings and roll with it. C’mon, let’s all be G’s 👊🏼
