Take Your Outfit From Day to Night

I’m officially getting in the festive mood and last night I had my first Christmas parrrrrtay.  Now I may not have a “normal” job but I do still have to work all day, for me it’s running around to meetings, collecting samples from PR’s, shooting and you can’t really do that in 5 inch heels, glammed up for the evenings event.  This is where day to night dressing really comes in handy!

My key piece for nailing nailing day to night is a pair of black skinny jeans.  In case you hadn’t noticed I’m not much of a dress-wearer, I won’t write them off completely but I do favour the practicality and the warmth of a pair of jeans or trousers.  In today’s post I’ve teamed up with Wallis and I’m using my staple piece, the skinnies, as the base to form my outfits, from day to night.

In my first look which is standard of what I wear day to day, I’ve layered a military coat over this amazing high neck jumper.  Wallis is a bit of a dark horse when it comes to knitwear, every Autumn/Winter season I always seem to find some amazing jumper which I end up living in and this is the first of three I’ve got in my collection for this season (You can shop some of my other favourites below).  A pair of black Chelsea boots (mine are Saint Laurent) give the look a little edge and a smarter appearance despite actually being pretty casual.

You can’t beat a chunky knit for a daytime look. In winter it’s the perfect piece to layer underneath a coat and wear with skinny jeans, ankle boots and a chic accessory.

For me there’s nothing more chic than a tailored blazer. Wear with nothing underneath for ultimate sex appeal or layer over a simple top or blouse
