Day to Night with La Redoute

I've touched on this before but over the last couple of years I've fallen back in love with a brand that I grew up with, La Redoute.  I grew up in the generation of 'catalogue children' and nothing made me more excited than when a phonebook (remember those?) sized catalogue was waiting on the doorstep when I got home from school, the latest issue was out, YES!  I would instantly set to work with a highlighter, thumbing through the pages at record speed, highlighting what I wanted.  Of course this was one seriously hefty wish list which had to be refined to about 5 or 6 items.  La Redoute was the catalogue I discovered when I was in my early teens and because I've pretty much been 5ft 9 since the age of 15 I loved the fit of these French clothes, perfect for my long legs and slender physique.  Fast forward to the time where the catalogue has been replaced by internet shopping and my love of La Redoute is equally as strong.  If I need something for a specific occasion it's often my first port of call and as you will have seen from this season's knitwear hauls...they got strong knitwear game!

Today's post is all about day to night dressing.  It's not so much about how to take certain pieces from day to night but more so to showcase the collections at La Redoute.  Starting off with my 'Day' look, I went for this khaki parka with luxurious faux fur trim & lining.  This is probably the warmest coat I own and it's perfect for this time of year.  I've layered the coat over this chunky roll neck knit (which I also have in dark grey as seen in this post) and teamed with some basic slim fit jeans and these suede ankle boots.

Moving on to the 'Night' look, you all know by now that I don't 'do' party dresses, I'm more of a trousers and shirt kinda girl.  So I've styled these faux leather trousers with this off white silk shirt and black court shoes.  It's a very minimal outfit but the key is in the details; I've worn a black lace bra underneath the shirt, just so it peeks through the neckline which adds a little 'sexy sexy' to the look.  A chic black coat is always handy to have in your wardrobe as this is such a universal piece.

Thanks to La Redoute for partnering up on this post.
