Wrapping up in these winter layers already has me lusting after a holiday with some sun! So this might be a fine time to share with you our amazing Honeymoon plans for next year. About 2 months ago my husband booked our flights to the U.S of A…road trip baby! In August we will be jetting off for the trip of a lifetime; 5 weeks road trippin’ around the USA…in a Mustang! Whoop! We’re so excited because this will be one last big trip for just the two of us (cue Will Smith) before we embark on the next stage of our lives, children!
I’ve been to a fair few places in the States before but my hubby has never been so I can’t wait for him to experience a country which I love so much. We’re actually flying into Toronto, Canada so we can say, ‘we’ve been to Canada’, albeit for a day, which will probably be spent sleeping! But from there our plan is to drive down to Detroit as our first USA stop. My husband was (ok is) an Eminem fan so Detroit was his choice as our first city. I fear there’s going to be a lot of rapping during our stay there, oh joy. From there we plan to travel across the country to the West Coast where we want to visit the biggies; San Fran, LA etc and then down to Vegas, nip into Mexico (Because we want to see a Chihuahua…in Mexico LOL) and then up through Texas (we’re thinking Houston) headed North/East to NYC. These are the main cities we want to visit but obviously there’s a great deal of road in between all these places so this is where we want to experience real America. In our heads all these quaint little towns you see in the movies really do exist so these are the kind of places we want to visit, and I really want to see random shit like ‘The worlds largest ball of yarn’….Please tell me that is a real thing! So I’m calling on all you USA dwelling folk (and anyone that’s travelled around America) to recommend places for us to stop and visit, even in the big cities which I’ve already mentioned, if there’s an amazing Doughnut shop, restaurant or activity you think would be amazing please do let us know! We’re relying on you guys to help us out 🙂
Guys this is an epic trip for us, and yes, I will be Instagramming (incessantly no doubt!) and Snap chatting (to the point of annoyance) because I can’t resist the temptation to sit on the hood of our Mustang in some Daisy Dukes, ala Jessica Simpson…without the double D’s…someone get me some chicken filets!
We’ll update you guys as our plans start to come together, but the flights and car are booked, so USA…watch out 😉
